Welcome to Intro Photo 10 Spring Semester

Overview Photo10: In this class you will learn much about how to see from a different perspective, how to improve your ability to take artistic photos and how to edit photos in Photoshop. There is much to know in the field of Photography and I am a learner as much as a teacher. In fact, we can learn much from each other. This class will allow a fair bit of freedom, but with this freedom comes responsibility.

( Class GuidelinesTo be discussed)

This year will be a bit different from years past. Students are encouraged to use their phones for taking photos due to Covid. School cameras will be available for student use in class only, and cameras will not be able to be signed out to take home. Techniques on how to use your phones will be taught in class. Students should download the Flickr App on their phones, but should also carry their phone charge cords with them as well. Students will be expected to disinfect all school camera equipment used.

We will be using the Flickr App for posting and organizing photos and students will be encouraged to find a phone photo editing app that will work for them.( VSCO or Snapseed) Assignments, links, videos etc will also be posted on this blog regularly which can be accessed  from home.

You will need to get a card reader/or use your phone cord from the teacher or upload directly to the Flickr App

  • Insert the card into the card reader and then plug into the usb port
  • Click on the drive( usually the c drive) on the left hand side, and then upload photos or copy/paste your images either on the M drive. Make sure you create a new folder and call it HEADSHOTS. This will be important so you keep all of your photos organized.
  • Once you have edited them in Photoshop, upload to Flickr. Put into an album called Headshots
  • If uploading directly to Flickr from your phone, use a photo app to edit photos before uploading to Flickr
