If you have finished all of the other assignments, you should focus on angle shots. Try to see things from a different perspective. 

  • 5 low angle shots: this is called “ a worm’s eye view” you should be shooting at ground level
  • 5 top down photos, try to get close to your subject or object and shoot down over top of it

 New Assignment: Step Down

Take 5 Step Down Phone Photos: you are to take 5 different photos using this technique. Make sure you have one or two selfie step downs. Try to use the cool cloud backgrounds, take photos from different distances. Make sure you get faces in the photos. EXPERIMENT!

10 marks. Put in folder called STEP DOWN

 Intro to Photoshop

1. Bring in one of your photos, crop and turn to black and white

2. Bring in a background from the internet

3. Bring in a headshot or other photo and SELECT and copy/paste to the background

4. Save a copy 1 and 3, put in folder called Photoshop 1

Take 10 close up shots, crop if you need to of object that are in the same colour family.

Thurs Sept 10

1. Review of how to use the digital SLR camera/check settings and format card

2. Intro to Photoshop: crop and lighten

3. How to upload photos and move to mdrive

4. Today's assignment: new students Scavenger Hunt

5. Experienced students: Big head little Body: Take a photo of a blank background. Then you are to take 4 photos of people from the same distance and cut off their head, photo from the neck down. Then take 4 photos of the the heads only. You will photoshop the bodies into the blank background  and then mix up the heads by putting them on different bodies. You will also use the transform tool to make the heads bigger, like a bobble head.

2.  Rule of Thirds

What is the rule of thirds? The rule of thirds is a composition guideline that places your subject in the left or right third of an image, leaving the other two thirds more open. While there are other forms of composition, the rule of thirds generally leads to compelling and well-composed shots. But, once you know this rule and practice it a bit, you can break the rule.
